Lindsey Nelson Golf Tournament

The 2021 event will be held on Tuesday, August 3rd.

The late Lindsey Nelson’s distinguished career spanned more than thirty-five years, from his early days as a University of Tennessee student spotter for Hall of Fame sportscaster Bill Stern, to more than three decades as a premier broadcaster for CBS, NBC and WTBS.

Among Mr. Nelson’s credits are seventeen years with the New York Mets, and three with the San Francisco Giants; for thirty-three years, Nelson covered college football, including twenty-six Cotton Bowls, five Sugar Bowls, four Rose Bowls and fourteen years announcing Notre Dame games.

Mention Lindsey Nelson’s name and fans remember a talented broadcaster, an expert storyteller, and a true sports enthusiast. From his colorful jackets, to his equally colorful broadcasts, Lindsey has established himself as one of the industry’s leading sportscasters.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Friends of Tennessee’s Babies with Special Needs. This well known tournament has been in existence since 1989! This wonderful event is held at Dead Horse Golf Course and is sponsored by the Concord/Farrragut Sertoma Club.
